Denise Raleigh is the Division Chief of Public Relations & Development at Gail Borden Public Library District. After the now famous 2013 ALA program, “The $84 Question: Libraries in the eBook Era,” she was one of a small group of Illinois library professionals that started the Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project connecting libraries and self-published authors to benefit everyone, especially readers. The Soon to be Famous Author team, including Denise, authored the book "How to launch an author awards program at your library." She was named one of Library Journal’s 2010 Mover & Shakers. Her team has been the recipient of two John Cotton Dana awards. In every bio she submits, she is compelled to include that virtually all success that Denise has been recognized for has resulted from working with a great team of people with awesome ideas and a dedication to execute. Before coming to work for Gail Borden, she co-owned a monthly publication, worked as a journalist, and practiced business law. She earned a business degree from Bowling Green State University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo and a MSLS from Clarion University.
